    Energy/Power Generation

    Background

Adhesives and bonding agents have come a long way from gluing together papers and bits of wood. Today, technological infrastructure like data junctions, under-sea data cables, battery packs, and electric motors require top-grade bonding and sealants to ensure that sensitive internal components are safe in the air and water-tight enclosures, even in underwater applications. Marine vehicles also benefit from the extensive benefits rendered by high-grade modern adhesives. However, many industries, and manufacturing as a whole, have improved by integrating advanced adhesives in their processes.

    Electric Automotive Industry

The automotive industry, for example, is steadily gravitating towards electric motors, where internal combustion engines will be ousted as the hosts, and electric motors will run the show. In an electric motor, the magnets’ prominent role is the generation of rotation, while a battery pack contains multiple batteries. These are both assembled and held in place by, you guessed it, adhesives. The battery pack provides the motor(s) with the juice to make rotation happen and produce both horsepower and torque.

There are different types of industrial-grade adhesives intended to fill specific gaps in diverse manufacturing and production lines. Automotive battery packs for electric automobiles and electric motors call for optimally engineered adhesives for permanent bonding, ensuring that parts are glued and sealed to ward off water seepage and coolant leakages. If water seeps into a battery pack or an electric motor, corrosion will be the least of your worries. In the same breath, if the coolant leaks from the battery pack or the electric motor, heat will warp some components or burn others.

Enter HASA 716 and UV ReAct 795

HASA 716 is an industrial-grade adhesive, a single-component structural anaerobic that excels in gluing together rigid parts in high temperatures. It is designed to bond rigid assemblies permanently and ensure that the numerous magnets inside an electric motor do not shift or vibrate loose. HASA 716 and UV React 795 are so good that they shrug off impacts, vibrations, and heat, and as acrylic adhesives, they serve as replacements for Loctite A533 and AA332. UV ReAct 795 is designed with permanent motor magnet bonding in mind and engineered to leverage high tensile strength and versatility to ensure that magnets stay where they should. It is impact and peeling-resistant, and when exposed to UV light, it cures to a permanent hard surface. HASA 716 and UV ReAct 795 are the perfect combos for battery packs and electric motors.

    Applications

    Both HASA 716 and UV ReAct 795 are ideal for;

    1.     Motor magnet bonding applications – These adhesives will permanently ensure that motor magnets are securely bonded onto the right places. Electric motors are often designed to be service-free as opposed to regular engines and thus require the best adhesives to bond the magnets for good.
    2.     Furniture – Wood, metal, and fabric comprise most furniture components. There are joints in furniture that need to be screwed or glued together. HASA 716 and UV ReAct 795 make ideal adhesives for furniture applications.
    3.     Automotive Applications – In automotive manufacturing and assembly, many parts need adhesives for permanent bonding. HASA 716 and UV ReAct 795 help ensure that parts do not fall off and that gaskets are sealed well.
    4.     Permanent Motor Magnets – Electric motors require permanently fixed magnets. HASA 716 and UV ReAct 795 ensure that the motor magnets are fixed in place permanently for optimal performance and maximum reliability.
    5.     Speakers – Premium sound speakers must be bonded together well to withstand the bass and treble they produce. HASA 716 and UV ReAct 795 ensure that the right parts are bonded well to deliver the best sound without the risk of speakers breaking their own components.
    6.     Generators - Just like most other machines, generators are made up of different components sealed together. The sealing and bonding can be done using HASA 716 and UV ReAct 795, and both guarantee versatility, good curing, and peace of mind.
    7.     Sensors – Yes, you really want sensors to stay in their designated zone for life. This is why HASA 716 and UV ReAct 795 will provide the permanent bonding needed to keep them there and give you correct feedback at all times.

    Typical Curing Performance

Fixture Time – The time the adhesive takes to develop a shear strength of 0.1N/mm2.

For a 0mm gap, it takes a duration less or equal to 24 seconds, while for a 0.25mm gap, it is 15 seconds or less. In both instances, the bonded sides must be primed using Activator 47.

    Curing Time

UV ReAct 795 cures when exposed to UV radiation of 365nm. The higher the UV intensity, the faster the adhesive will cure.
